Planning for and conceiving a baby is one of the most exciting experiences in a couples life. Pre-conception care is all about preparing the body and mind for the miracle of conceiving, growing and birthing a baby. For others the pain and disappointment of not conceiving can have a huge impact on their lives.
During your pregnancy your body will go through significant changes, these changes will effect the emotional, hormonal and physiological balance of the body.

Planning a Baby?
Trying to get Pregnant?
If you can’t get pregnant, asking how to get pregnant faster or are planning a baby and just want to get baby fit, do read on …
Maybe you are :-
Weighed down in your struggle to get pregnant?
Frustrated by your label “unexplained infertility”?
Recovering after miscarriage?
Suffering a problem that affects fertility, like PCOS, endometriosis or sperm issues and are confused how to improve your chances of having a baby?
Already a parent, trying for another child and just can’t understand why it’s not happening this time?
Simply aware you need to “clean up your act” before trying to conceive?
Feeling time is running out to start a family or have another child?
Hoping and praying for IVF – or other assisted technique – success?
You’re not alone. And you’ve come to the right place. Some facts
Approximately one in six couples experience fertility problems.
Although it is often assumed that the problem lies with the woman, this is only actually true in approximately 30% of the cases. A further 30% of cases are due to male fertility issues 30% to both partners and 10% are unexplained.
Even a healthy couple will take on average between 12-18 months of 'trying' before they conceive. We live in a fast-paced world and tend to forget that nature's natural rhythm moves at a much slower pace.
A woman is most fertile between 18-25. Fertility significantly declines after the age of 35. This means it is harder the older you get, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
Fertility Enhancing tips for Women
Know when you ovulate. There are 3 'main' methods, temperature method, cervical mucus method, and DIY ovulation kits.
Avoid alcohol if at all possible - including up to 3 months before trying to conceive.
Dont smoke. Smokers take about 30% longer to conceive than non smokers and have less successful IVF treatments.
Avoid recreational drugs such as marijuana and cocaine. These can decrease sex hormone levels and make miscarriage, malformation and stillbirth more likely.
Begin a healthy diet at least 4 months before trying to conceive if possible. This will prepare your body and correct any nutritional deficiencies. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg, unsaturated fats, oily fish, high fibre foods and complex carbs. Try to eat organic where possible. Eliminate trans fats, processed/packaged foods and refined sugars. Eliminate all drinks containing caffeine and/or sugar and all stimulants. Herbal teas, spring water and diluted pure fruit juices are better.
Regular moderate exercise has many health benefits - but don't exercise to excess.
Too much stress can upset sex hormone levels and the normal menstrual cycle. Failure to conceive can in turn lead to tension and further stress. try to identify and avoid any obvious souces of stress
Have a positive mental attitude, its easier said than done but it really is important to believe, and indeed visualise, that you will get pregnant.
Keep your feet warm.
Control your weight.
Consider a reflexology treatment in the first half of your cycle, to bring your body into balance and de-stress, and then a second treatment after ovulation. If this is financially prohibitive, at least try to have one treatment during the first half of every cycle.

As a mother to 3 children I was surprised when myself and my partner experienced difficulty conceiving our 4th child. After 18 months I decided to book a reflexology appointment, having read that it can be helpful with conception problems. I had three treatments and the next month I found out I was pregnant. I continued to receive monthly treatments throughout my pregnancy and saw Caroline a week before my due date. I went into labour spontaneously a few days later and my labour was short and relatively pain free. K.H. Stafford -
Thank you so much for today- it was amazing and I can feel it working on my symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) already just have to wait and see if the baby makes an appearance now! V.L. Stafford -
Pregnant women were offered free Reflexology session while pregnant. Of those who received Reflexology the 20 - 25 year olds had an average time of first stage labour of 5 or 6 hours. The 26 - 30 year olds seemed to have the longest labours, whereas the 30 to 40 year olds, who included many first time mothers, had labour times of 2 to 3 hours.
Resent Research Study - Labour Research and Outcome
Overall, the average first stage of labour was 5 hours, compared to the textbook average of 16 to 24 hours.
The second stage of labour lasted 16 minutes, compared to the textbook average of 1 to 2 hours, and the third stage of labour averaged 7 minutes.
Only 5.4% of the women who had reflexology treatment required emergency caesarian section compared to an average of 13% in Newham district where the study was conducted.

PostnatalWomen can feel both jubilant and exhausted as well as having conflicting emotions after the babies birth. A reflexology treatment can be wonderful at this time as well as helping with other conditions associated with this post-natal period.
Reflexology can help increase relaxation, release tension, improved sleep, improved mood and increased well-being.
Success Stories ....
After going through the heartache of having two miscarriages that the doctors put down to bad luck, I turned to holistic medicine and reflexology. Caroline has been wonderful. She helped reduce my stress levels and explained how different parts of my feet related to my reproductive organs. We were soon pregnant again and seeing Caroline once a month helped control my natural anxiety that something would go wrong. It didn't and six months ago we had a beautiful little boy! I can't thank Caroline enough and I truly believe that without her magic hands we wouldn't have our son. She is a warm and generous person who puts you at ease straight away. I would reccommend Caroline and reflexology to anyone." L.M. Stafford
After 4 failed IVF treatments I decided to try reflexology to help with my infertility. Caroline was recommended by a friend and I am pleased to say that after 8 months of regular reflexology treatments with Caroline, I am now pregnant, have had my 12 week scan and our baby is due in June 2010. - We would never of had babies...
After two failed pregnancies, one of which resulted in a fallopian tube being removed, I took my sister's advice (who herself used reflexology to help her with her pregnancy) and, with an open mind, searched on-line for a local reflexologist. I came across Caroline's website and booked a session - that phone call has changed my life in the best possible way. I am now the proud mummy of a little girl and truly believe that reflexology with Caroline helped to balance my body in preparation for pregnancy, regulate my hormones and stress levels and boost my energy levels. After every session I left feeling completely rejuvenated and full of a sense of well being. I carried on having reflexology whilst pregnant and during the sessions my little one loved kicking about in my womb- I think she was thoroughly enjoying the treatments too! I can't thank Caroline enough for all that she has done and continues to do - a wonderful woman with a truly great gift." A.W. Stone
